Lasting Support

Taking Care of Our Own

In 1970, Air Force Village opened to provide excellent retirement living with access to continuing health care for retired Air Force officers and their spouses. Central to our mission was to give priority to retired Air Force officer widows and widowers in need of financial assistance. Since then the Air Force Villages Charitable Foundation was established as a 501(c)(3) organization to offer donors funding choices to support our charitable mission and new programs that enhance the quality of life for all residents.

Today, we are known as Blue Skies of Texas and we continue the tradition of Taking Care of Our Own, working to fulfill the mission of assisting widowed spouses who faithfully stood alongside their loved ones.

We are grateful for our many generous donors, including the Air Force Assistance Fund and Officers’ Spouses’ Clubs across the world, for continuing to provide support for our first charitable mission. We are also thankful for the marvelous support donors provide for other programs which enriches the lives of our residents.
