Blue Skies of Texas CNA Training Program

Earn a Texas Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification in 7 weeks. Blue Skies of Texas offers individuals a unique opportunity to get into the healthcare field through our nurse aide training program.

Our program consists of 4 weeks of classroom instruction followed by 2 weeks of clinical experience.  The final week of class is set aside for students to practice the clinical portion of the state exam.   We provide a comprehensive, hands-on course, designed to teach the skills and tools needed to become a successful nurse aide. Our small class size is designed to offer a focused and intimate learning environment. Likewise, our state-of-the-art facilities and nurse simulation lab will ensure you receive the most up-to-date training while also providing real life experience; allowing you to successfully transition to the work environment upon graduation.  Students will learn basic human anatomy and physiology, the nurse assistant’s role in the health care team, effective communication, the importance, and application of infection prevention measures, and how to assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) to include bathing, dressing, feeding, etc.

The program is hosted four times per year at the Blue Skies of Texas east campus. Class hours are 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, Monday through Friday.  Attendance and punctual arrival are mandatory to ensure successful completion of the course. There will be required homework in preparation for class. The minimum estimated amount of study time per week is approximately 10 hours.

Blue Skies is a Prometric In-Facility clinical test site exclusively for our graduates.  Graduates can take their clinical exams alongside their classmates and in a familiar environment. Our instructor will assist you in scheduling your exam and will provide you extra practice tests/clinical skills training before taking your exam.

A $50 fee for administrative costs applies to those selected and is payable on the first day of class.  Selected candidates will be required to pass a background check and drug screen. Textbooks and exam voucher are included.  Scrubs, at student expense, will be required for the clinical rotation.
